Series III Lightweight Landrover

My land Rover which is a 1979 Series III Lightweight. The Lightweights were made solely for the military to fulfill a specific need in light transportation that can be easily stripped and either packed and flown to where it was needed in the world or more extremely thrown out the back of a Hercules transport aircraft for rapid deployment in the field.

The Beast was purchased here in Leicester where I am based and was in a bit of a state. The bodywork, chassis and engine were fine but there had been over 25 years of grime and I stopped counting the layers of paint after 5!. Below are some of the many pictures of the restoration.

The classic 2 1/4 Litre 4 Cylender engine. A bit of a state but other wise a working example with no major problems.
